Wow, what a summer. There was so much we did with all the family. For us it started when the family came out here to Provo for a few days. They were here for Sunday, which was Lee's birthday, so we had a huge barbeque. Grammi decided it was time Weston had his first soda and he sure seemed to like it.
After hanging in Provo for a while, they took off to Nevada to see where Jon had served for the past two years. After that, they headed to Mexico. Luckily, I was able to fly out and go down with them. It was so nice spending time by the beach again.
As always, we spent at least one morning combing the beach for sand dollars. Normally we only get the ones that aren't broken, but I thought this one was really cool. It also made me think of my husband, because Lee wasn't able to come to Mexico with us.
While doing some in-town shopping, Rachel decided she would uphold our tradition of getting our hair braided. The rest of us decided we were ok without it.
Our next stop after Mexico was San Diego to pick up Lee from the airport. Then we headed to El Centro to spend time with old friends.

After some relaxing time at the Fairbanks, we moved on to our next stop, L.A. The first two days there were spent relaxing in the pool and waiting for everyone to arrive. Will and Becky arrived the same day as us and Till and Brad arrived the second day. We also got to see Uncle Dan and family the first day. It was nice being able to catch up with everyone and enjoy a night of family time. The next day, Weston's birthday, was spent at the happiest place on Earth, Disneyland!
Because we were having a birthday and a family reunion we all got buttons. Lee also had a third button for being his first time to Disneyland.
Something new happened to us this trip though. Right as we were set to go on Space Mountain, our car got pulled to the left instead of going to the right like it's supposed to. Apparently something was wrong with our shuttle, so we had to have a special emergency ladder pulled up so we could get out. The worker then had us take a short behind-the-scenes path to get back to the front of the line to re-board. Luckily the next shuttle was fine and we continued to the right.The rest of the day continued without things breaking on us, which was good.
Of all the rides at Disneyland, Landon's absolute favorite was Autopia. He was so proud of how well he could drive and kept trying to find new people in our group willing to take him on again.
Above is a pic of Jon in line for the Runaway Train. He was chosen to carry the card to the people at the end of the line. Basically, it's used to time how long the wait in line is.

Quick pic as we were leaving the park.After an exciting, yet exhausting day, we all slept well. The next morning we ate breakfast with Uncle Joe and family. Then we heading to his house to check out the new buggy for the Baja races. Landon and Weston preferred it inside. Landon loved playing on Uncle Joe's pool table. Weston's favorite was the dog. Weston loves dogs, but amazingly was too scared to even touch him at first.
After a while of chasing him, then avoiding touching him, Weston started to feel safe enough to pet him. He loved playing with the dog, chasing him, and giving him the chew toys.
Here's a video of Weston petting Champ, then yelling "doggie!" like he did the entire time.After a wild Summer of fun, it's a little hard to adjust back to regular life, but soon school will be starting, and I'm excited for it.
