I always love Halloween! Any excuse to dress up is great! In the morning
our apartment help a playgroup for little kids and had everyone come in
their costumes. It wasn't much, but Ty enjoyed played with the other
kids and I loved seeing the cute costumes.
On our way to the playgroup
When Lee got home from school
we went over to his parents' house to watch an episode of Doctor Who
and spend some time with Grandma. While there, Lee pulled out one of his old bikes that he wants to give to Ty when he's older. Ty didn't think he needed to wait and had a blast riding it around.

Around 4 we headed to campus because
there was trick-or-treating at the Lorey Student Building. Unfortunately
Ty fell asleep in the car before we got there, so I just dropped off my
ballot and we went home. I'm glad I actually got to vote this year! Our
ward trunk-or-treat was on Halloween this year so after an hour nap we
woke Ty up and got him ready to go. Waking him up made him a little
cranky and cold though, so Lee had to carry him in a blanket from car to
car rather than him running from one car to the next. He did get
happier when he realized what he was doing though. After people were done handing out candy we went in the church for refreshments. Later I found out there had been pumpkins to vote on. Ty's favorite was the Cookie Monster one and he thought it needed a cookie.

Since he had been
cold, we didn't want to go trick-or-treating outside at houses, so we
went to Walmart to trick-or-treat there. The people were so nice and
most were very generous with the handfuls of candy they gave Ty. It was
so fun seeing how excited Ty was and I love that people recognized his
costume. Halloween is so much more fun when your kid starts to
understand what is going on. Last year Ty didn't really understand and
just enjoyed ringing the doorbells.
This year we didn't carve a pumpkin, but thanks to Tiffany we had a small pumpkin just perfect for Ty. I pulled out my paints and let him have fun. With my limited colors, he had red, blue, white, and purple... which all mixed together to be purple. So in the end, it was just a purple pumpkin, but I still loved watching Ty decorate it.
