Halloween!

Ty's first Halloween wasn't much fun for him because he was only a month old, so he had no idea what was happening, plus it stormed last year so we couldn't even trick or treat. This year was much better. Even though we had snow last week, it was perfect weather tonight. We started with our apartment complex, but not a lot of people were handing out candy. They would have a sign in the window if trick-or-treaters were welcome since the porch lights here are automatic. After 40 minutes of trick-or-treating at our place, we were ready to move on. We drove over to Lee's parents so they could see our adorable chibi Chuck! Then we hit a few roads in their neighborhood before deciding we were done. Ty got quite a haul for a 13 month old. Mommy and Daddy are more than happy to help him eat his candy! The bad part about this Halloween? Daddy got sick, so we weren't really able to get many pictures since I was busy holding him or his hand in one of my hands and holding his bucket in my other hand. Ty loved walking around the neighborhood and was a great doorbell ringer. Towards the end I could tell he was starting to understand what we were doing because he quit trying to run and would wait patiently at the door until it opened. I think Ty's favorite parts of the night were petting a black cat and eating a dumdum at Gram Gram's (Lee's mom's new nick name) house. He also loved seeing Grandpa as always. We had trouble getting pictures at one part because as soon as Grandpa walked in Ty didn't want me anymore and ran for Grandpa. I can't wait for next year! Halloween is always so much fun and Ty might actually remember what Halloween is!

Points to those who know our costumes! I know Tiffany should know at least.

Immunizations

We finally got Ty his 1 year shots. He was so cute and happy before the shots. I took pictures because he was being so cute and I was worried he might be really upset afterward since this is the first set of shots where he's a little more aware of his surroundings. Ty was not happy about the shots, which just breaks my heart. I have a hard enough time with shots for myself, so being with him when he gets shots is hard. Luckily, Lee has always been there to hold Ty because I know I wouldn't be able to hold him still. The nurse was really nice and got the shots done quickly and even let Ty take home a new book. After a little playing and walking Ty was back to giggling.

Corn Maze

Today we took Ty to his first corn maze. We took a tractor ride first, then watch a pumpkin get launched from the punkin' chunkin'. Then headed for the mazes. The first maze was bales of hay set on the ground so you could still see over it and most of the kids just liked climbing on it, but Ty liked stepping on all the straw that had fallen. Then we headed to the other two mazes. The first was easy, so we let Ty tell us which way to turn. He was mostly interested in picking up the fallen corn though. We made it out pretty fast and headed to the last maze. It said it was medium difficulty, but Lee and I were pretty tired by the time we made it out. The dead ends didn't seem like dead ends and led on for quite a while before ending. We had to backtrack a couple times and Ty was ready for a nap, so he got to be held most of the maze. Carrying 20 pounds around gets hard fast. After the mazes we found a little area to take some pictures before heading home.
Also earlier this week I worked on trying to get some fun fall pictures. Ty wasn't really a fan of looking at the camera though. He mostly wanted to run around through the leaves.

3 Years

Happy Anniversary! It amazing to think that it's only been 3 years, yet at other times I can't believe it's been so long! It's hard to imagine my life before Lee. He brings so much joy into my life and I love having such a wonderful husband to take care of me and my family.

To celebrate, I bought a special meal to make. Some of the PF Chang's freezer meal, spring rolls, and white rice. The PF Chang's was a big let down, but I still enjoyed making something new and special for Lee since I know how much he enjoys Asian food. Later in the week we also went to the dollar theater and watched Captain America, which was fun. It was Ty's first time in a real theater since he'd only been to the drive-in once before. He sat well for the first little bit, then decided it was time to run around. Luckily there were only 4 other people there and they didn't mind him running laps from our aisle to the front then back to us.

Lee also bought me a new pearl necklace since the one he bought me before had broke. I love having a nice pearl necklace that I can say was given to me by the man I love.

So Happy Anniversary to a wonderful man! I'm so lucky to have you in my life!

The Big 1: Part 2

Day 2 of Ty's birthday consisted of a day at the zoo! This was Ty's first time and Grammy had even bought Ty a lion for his birthday, so it got to come with.Out front by the lion statue waiting for Tiffany and her boys.

The same weekend as Ty's birthday was also General Conference. The night of the priesthood session Ty was in a really good mood. When Grandpa and Daddy came home, this is what Ty found to be a lot of fun.
