 Happy Halloween!

Painting

 I took a painting class for the first time. The library had a free event. I originally was going to go alone, but things got busy and I had to take Emmett with me. Luckily they had an empty spot so he got to paint too! It was cute watching him and he kept singing Christmas music for everyone. I'm really happy with how mine turned out!

Halloween Party

 Since Halloween falls on a Sunday this year we won't be going trick or treating. Lee's work office is closed so they won't have their usual event. To make sure the kids still enjoy the holiday I decided we'd throw our own party and invite friends. Surprisingly the stores didn't have any Halloween themed pinatas so I decided to try making my own. It was actually pretty easy, just a little time consuming. I cut up a diaper box and used duct tape to keep it together. Then I covered it in streamers.

After actually using it, I'd say a diaper box is too strong. This pinata did not want to break. We eventually pulled out our sword and cut it up a bit.

For decorations I used balloons and streamers to make spiders and webs.

Party snacks were simple; mummy hot dogs, jack-o-lantern oranges, and ghost string cheese.

We had a few party games planned and some prizes for the winners.

The kids all wore their costumes and had fun.
