5 Years!

It's hard to imagine it's already been 5 years since I married my best friend and man of my dreams! Lee does so much for me and I can't imagine life without him. For our anniversary Lee got off work a little early and we went to watch Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2. My mom swears the first movie is basically our story, so I thought it fitting. We also wanted to watch something that would interest Ty since we didn't plan for a babysitter ahead of time and kind of wanted to do something as a family. We got to the movie a few minutes late, but that just meant we missed some previews. To our surprise, the entire theater was empty so we had the whole place to ourselves. Afterward Ty discovered the arcade area and wanted to play around. We didn't get any tokens, but Ty enjoyed pretending to drive the cars. At one point he went over and started pushing buttons on the DDR game and I realized that it actually had some credit left. That's not the first time that's happened to us. So Lee and I got to dance a few songs which was fun and helped burn off some of the candy we had during the movie. After finally prying Ty away from the arcade we headed next door for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. We lucked out once again and arrived early enough for an early dinner which was discounted. The food was delicious and we enjoyed going somewhere we normally don't. I love Lee so much and am so grateful for everything he does for me. Here's to many more wonderful years together!

Haircut

I've been contemplating cutting my hair for a while now. My hair has gotten sort of long, but I was just putting it in a ponytail everyday, so I really wanted to change things up. I decided it was time to take a risk and go REALLY short. I went with a pixie cut that I saw on the character Mary Margaret from Once Upon A Time. I really love the way it came out! It looks so much better and it's super easy! There are days where I can just wake up, brush my hair, and it looks great!

Mickey Party

For Ty's 3rd birthday he told us he wanted a Mickey Mouse party, so we did our best to oblige. We picked up Mickey party hats and other fun Mickey party favors. I even managed to make a good Mickey cake. I'm so grateful to have a cake decorating kit now. It really does make a big difference on how your cakes turn out.
Ty's day started with a big surprise. Lee and I booby-trapped his door with balloons and streamers. When he opened the door he had an avalanche of balloons, then got to break through the streamers.
Sadly his face was covered for the picture, but he had a big smile.

After a quick run to the office to pick up the package from Grandma, we called over Skype to Grandma so she could watch Ty open the present. He sat for quite a while just playing with his new Mickey RV toy. Grandma was very happy to see that he enjoyed it.
Will and Becky drove down for the day to party with us. We played a little Wii together and went to Fort Fun and enjoyed the arcade and bounce house there. I'm so grateful that we still have some family close by to celebrate special occasions with.

After Fort Fun we had cake and presents. We let Ty decide where to put his candles. He thought Mickey's chin was a good place.

It was such a fun day and I think Ty really felt special. I still have a hard time believing that he's already 3 years old!
